About this Journey
The mist-swathed peaks of Huangshan are an elegant Chinese scroll painting come to life. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose name literally means “Yellow Mountain,” has inspired painters and poets throughout the centuries with its timeless beauty. Home to its own variation of pine tree and green tea, Huangshan is famous for its dramatic rocky peaks, sea of clouds, and magical sunrise. On this trip, you’ll get to hike up Huangshan more than once, stopping at various points of interest to enjoy the majestic views that have been immortalized in paintings and poems.

Itinerary
Day 1 - 2
Option 1: ascend Huangshan either by the Eastern Steps, passing by bubbling streams, pine and bamboo forests, and special rock formations • Option 2: ascend Huangshan by cable car •Enjoy the stunning spectacle of Huangshan’s sunrise, when the sun’s golden rays seem to spill over the clouds • Hike through the staggering peaks and deep valleys of Xihai Grand Canyon, a natural masterpiece less frequented by tourists • Pass through a landscape reminiscent of the Lord of the Rings, including such wistfully named rock formations as Fairy Walking Bridge and Peak Flying from Afar
Day 3 - 4
Ascend Huangshan via the Western Steps, passing Brightness Summit and Jade Screen Pavilion before reaching Lotus Peak • Be welcomed by the Greeting Pine, a tree which has one of its branches extended in apparent greeting •For those interested, ascend higher up to Celestial Capital Peak and enjoy the magnificent views
